Teen Shot, Killed In Broad Daylight In Westchester

Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a teenage boy that occurred in broad daylight in Westchester.

Officers from the Yonkers Police Department were dispatched shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 29 to the area of South Broadway near the intersection of Vark Street, where there was a report of gunshots fired. At the same time of the report of shots fired, a 17-year-old Yonkers resident and a second shooting victim arrived at Saint Joseph’s Hospital.

Police said that the teen died at the hospital, launching an investigation into the shooting. The second victim of the shooter was hospitalized and listed in stable condition later on Tuesday.

Yonkers Police Det. Sgt. Dean Politopoulos said that detectives from the Major Case Squad and Crime Scene Unit have responded to the scene and are actively investigating this incident at this time, interviewing subjects and witnesses, reviewing surveillance video, and processing forensic and ballistic evidence.
